IPVanish, one of the top VPNs on the market, has unveiled a new feature for its Android TV and Fire TV apps aimed at improving user convenience. The new VPN shortcuts feature lets you access your favorite content more quickly, minimizing the need to navigate through multiple screens with the remote.

IPVanish’s latest update introduces a feature that lets you choose a specific VPN server location for an app on your TV, connect to that server, and open the app with a single click from the IPVanish Home screen. For example, connecting to a US server and opening Netflix can be done with just 1 click with the shortcuts feature.

You can create up to three shortcuts on your Fire TV or Android TV IPVanish app. These shortcuts appear below the main “Connect” button on the app’s Home screen. To set up a shortcut, select a VPN location, choose an app installed on your device, like Netflix, and configure the shortcut box to display the chosen app and VPN location.

Managing these shortcuts is also simple. You can edit or remove shortcuts by selecting the respective icons below the shortcut box. Additionally, the Home screen Settings menu offers an option to hide shortcuts for a cleaner interface.

If you still can’t see the feature in your IPVanish app on Android TV or Fire TV, you should update the VPN app from the app store on your device.

IPVanish also offers other useful features on Android and Fire TV devices, like Threat Protection, which blocks annoying ads, trackers, and malicious sites on Android and Fire TV. That’s in addition to decent streaming support (it works with Netflix and Max) and industry-standard security features like a kill switch, which disconnects from the internet when it loses connection to the VPN server to prevent your IP from leaking.
