Safety Detectives spoke with S. M. Nazmul Hasan, CEO of Kolpolok Limited, to find out what inspired him to launch Symlex VPN and how they continue to grow in a competitive online security market.
Safety Detectives: Please tell me a little about yourself and how you got involved with Symlex VPN?
S. M. Nazmul Hasan: Hello, my name is S. M. Nazmul Hasan, CEO of Kolpolok Limited. In 2019, our technical team felt that cybersecurity should be the biggest priority for internet users, including ourselves. So, the idea of launching a Virtual Private Network, more commonly known as a VPN, came to us. Our main motive was to provide the ultimate security to our users while using the internet, at home, or in the workplace. And that is how we decided we should launch a VPN application and finalized its name to be Symlex VPN.
SD: Tell me about Symlex VPN services – what makes it unique or stand out in a crowded VPN market?
NH: Our goal was to make an app convenient for everyone. Hence, the pricing was kept at a minimum to be affordable for users of all ages. Furthermore, the user interface was created so that no one would have trouble using the application. Thirdly, there are no authentication requirements.
Symlex VPN is available across the biggest platforms for anyone to download and use- Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS. It is also available for purchase on Play Store, AppStore, Huawei App Gallery, and Amazon Store. We made the payment gateway easier by including an in-app purchase unavailable across other VPNs. Finally, our customer service is active for 24 hours. Our support team remains active 24/7 to solve any issues that might arise while using the application.
SD: What is your customer base?
NH: Symlex VPN is a global VPN network that comprises South America, Asia, and Europe countries. At the same time, it is also available in the USA, England, and Denmark and expanding to more countries soon.
Our maximum customer base is in the Middle Eastern countries, including Dubai, UAE, etc., where most VPNs are blocked or unavailable. The expats come to UAE and have trouble contacting their families since social applications are blocked in that region. Symlex VPN helps them to connect with their families without any interruption.
SD: Why do individuals and companies need a good VPN?
NH: Cybersecurity threats have reached a new height. With hackers figuring out algorithms for different platforms, it is easy for them to hack into your system and gain information or data. Companies tend to depend on the internet as the most convenient method of communication, but this introduces their data and confidential information to outsiders.
People working remotely or out for vacation need to access the companies’ databases or bank accounts using an open network. This can expose the databases to anyone who wants to steal. The same applies to individuals who work outside cafes or use public Wi-fi. The data, information and identity theft can be prevented using a VPN. VPNs can secure the network by changing IP addresses to their dedicated ones and enabling end-to-end encryption that keeps the data between the sender and the receiver.
SD: How does your company handle its customers’ security?
NH: We provide AES-256 military-grade encryption for our users, the maximum level of cybersecurity provided by any VPN protocol. Our company maintains a strict no-logging policy so that no information is compromised. Symlex VPN is registered in South Africa and Bangladesh, countries not included in 14EYEs or 5EYEs.
SD: Does Symlex VPN offer protection from cyberthreats, and if so, what kinds?
NH: There are numerous ways to lose all the data and information an individual might deal with. Symlex VPN provides security and protection from certain types of cyberthreats, including hacking into social media platforms, and data theft from computers through viruses and pop-up ads while using the browser. Once a user connects Symlex to their device, all these cyberthreats are eliminated, providing the ultimate security for the said user.
