Only 3 Steps (Quick + Easy) to Getting a United Arab Emirates IP Address in 2024:
- Choose a VPN. Pick a VPN that has at least 1 server in the United Arab Emirates. I recommend Private Internet Access because it’s super affordable, fast, and has a large server network.
- Download the VPN. It only takes a few minutes to download and install a VPN app on your device. If you need to use the VPN on more than one device, check how many simultaneous connections the VPN allows. My top pick, Private Internet Access, allows unlimited simultaneous connections.
- Choose a server in the United Arab Emirates. Scroll down through the list of server locations in the VPN app and select a server in the United Arab Emirates. That’s it! You can now browse the internet as if you were located in the UAE.
The simplest way of getting a United Arab Emirates IP address is with a VPN (virtual private network).
VPNs have servers in different places around the world. Once you connect to one of the servers, they give you an IP address that matches that location — for example, the United Arab Emirates. VPNs are legal, easy to use, and affordable.
I’ve tested some of the best VPNs on the market and found 3 that consistently gave me an IP address in the United Arab Emirates. My top choice is Private Internet Access because it’s fast, secure, and has excellent privacy features. Editors' Note: Private Internet Access and this site are in the same ownership group.
Best VPNs for Getting a United Arab Emirates IP Address in 2024
🥇1. Private Internet Access – Best VPN for Getting a United Arab Emirates IP Address
Private Internet Access (PIA) is my favorite VPN for getting a United Arab Emirates IP address because it’s fast and has excellent privacy features. In my tests, it always gave me a UAE IP address and maintained great speeds. It loaded sites and videos instantly while connected to the UAE server, and I watched videos in HD and 4K quality buffer-free. I was even able to play online games while connected to the UAE server with no lag.
PIA offers top-notch privacy features. It has a no-logs policy that has been independently verified and proven in court, which means it doesn’t track your online activities, and it uses RAM-only servers that never store your data to the hard drive – and every server reset wipes all data. What’s more, PIA’s servers are colocated (they’re owned and operated by PIA) so nobody except PIA employees can access them.
I also like that PIA uses perfect forward secrecy, which is an encryption method where the VPN generates a different encryption key for every communication session. PIA also offers full protection against DNS, WebRTC, and IPv6 leaks. I ran several leak tests, and PIA never revealed my actual IP address — I could only see a UAE IP address.
PIA also has an Advanced Kill Switch option that disables your internet access when you’re not connected to the VPN. I find this very useful because I don’t have to worry about accidentally visiting a website without securing my connection first.
PIA comes with an ad blocker (MACE), which is one of the best on the market. I never saw pop-ups or any other apps on them when connected to one of PIA’s UAE servers. MACE also prevents you from accessing malware-laden websites. In my tests, it stopped me from opening known phishing websites.
PIA is great for streaming and torrenting on UAE servers. The VPN works with all major streaming platforms. It also allows torrenting on all of its servers, works with all major P2P clients like BitTorrent, uTorrent, and Vuze, and offers port forwarding, which lets you connect to more peers for faster speeds.
PIA is incredibly easy to use. To connect to one of its UAE servers, all you have to do is find the full list of server locations and select UAE. I also like that PIA lets you add server locations to favorites for quick access, and it even lets you filter servers by latency. It offers unlimited simultaneous connections, making it a great choice for larger families (the VPN average is 5–10 devices).
Private Internet Access has affordable plans that start at $2.03 / month. It backs all plans with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

🥈2. CyberGhost VPN — Easy-to-Use VPN With a Large Server Network in Dubai
CyberGhost VPN is one of the most user-friendly VPNs on the market for getting a UAE IP address, which makes it an excellent choice if you don’t have much experience with VPNs. It has a simple interface, and I like that it offers short explanations for every setting in the app. You can even mark the UAE server location as your favorite for a 1-click connection the next time you open your VPN.
My favorite CyberGhost feature is Smart Rules. You can use it to set up your VPN app to automatically connect you to one of its UAE servers on launch and have it automatically open an app (like your favorite streaming platform) after it connects you to a certain server. I set CyberGhost VPN to automatically connect me to a UAE server on launch, and it gave me a UAE IP address every time.
CyberGhost has 10+ servers in Dubai — which is more than most VPNs on my list — meaning you’re less likely to get connected to a crowded server with reduced speeds. CyberGhost offers great speeds, but it’s still not as fast as Private Internet Access. I didn’t experience any significant delay while connected to one of its servers, and all sites that I visited opened instantly. Videos took a couple of seconds to load, but I could still watch HD videos without any buffering.
CyberGhost VPN has great security features, including RAM-only servers, perfect forward secrecy, and a no-logs policy that has been independently confirmed. It also offers DNS and IP leaks protection and blocks all IPv6 traffic automatically. When it comes to streaming, CyberGhost works with all of the top streaming apps. Unfortunately, the VPN doesn’t allow torrenting on its UAE servers.
CyberGhost VPN has budget-friendly plans, with prices that start at $2.03 / month. The VPN offers an impressive 45-day money-back guarantee on its longer plans (the monthly plan carries a 14-day guarantee).

🥉3. PrivateVPN — Great VPN for Beginners
PrivateVPN offers pretty strong security. It has perfect forward secrecy, which changes the encryption key for each connection to prevent hackers from abusing compromised past or future encryption keys to spy on your current internet usage. PrivateVPN also has Sleath VPN, an obfuscation tool that hides your VPN traffic. While it doesn’t have full leak protection like Private Internet Access and CyberGhost VPN, I never experienced any leaks in my tests.
PrivateVPN also has good streaming support, and it supports torrenting on all of its servers (including the ones in the UAE) and offers port forwarding.
I like that PrivateVPN’s apps are beginner-friendly. It doesn’t take more than 5 seconds to find and connect to its UAE server location. Also, the provider’s apps are very minimalist, so you don’t feel overwhelmed when using them.
PrivateVPN also maintained good speeds in my tests, but it wasn’t as fast as Private Internet Access or CyberGhost VPN. I didn’t experience any delays when browsing while connected to its UAE server location, and I watched videos in HD without any buffering (but I had to wait 5 seconds for some videos to load). It’s a shame that PrivateVPN doesn’t have split tunneling, as you could use that feature to improve the VPN’s speeds.
PrivateVPN’s plans start at $2.00 / month, so it’s very affordable. All plans are backed by a risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee.

How to Choose the Best VPN for the UAE in 2024
- Find a VPN with servers in the UAE. To get a UAE IP address, you’ll need a VPN that has servers in the UAE. My top choice, Private Internet Access, has 1 server location in the UAE.
- Pick a VPN that provides quick connection speeds. Despite the fact that all VPNs cause a bit of slowdown due to the extended distance your data has to cover to reach distant servers, the VPNs I recommend manage to maintain swift connection speeds. In my tests, Private Internet Access proved to be the speediest while connected to a server in the UAE.
- Look for strong security. Every VPN on my list has industry-standard VPN security features like 265-bit AES encryption (which is virtually unbreakable), a no-logs policy to prevent the VPN from storing your data, offers protection against leaks, and a kill switch that disconnects you from the internet when your VPN connection drops.
- Check if the VPN has good streaming and torrenting support. Lots of VPNs simply don’t work with streaming sites. However, all of the VPNs I recommend work with popular streaming apps, and PrivateVPN and Private Internet Access support torrenting on their UAE servers.
- Evaluate the user-friendliness of the VPN. My recommended VPNs make connecting to a UAE server a simple and quick, taking no longer than 1–2 minutes to acquire a UAE IP address.
- Choose a VPN offering good value for money. All the VPNs I recommend come with a money-back guarantee, allow numerous connections (Private Internet Access, my top pick, supports unlimited simultaneous devices), and have affordable subscription rates.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are VPNs legal in the UAE?
The UAE doesn’t ban the use of VPNs. Still, it doesn’t allow using them to hide online activities that the government deems immoral (all of which are illegal in the UAE) — including sites that promote dating, pornography, gambling, and even certain VoIP services like Skype.
The best way to keep your data secure and remain anonymous online is with a quality VPN like the ones on my list.
Which VPNs work in the UAE?
Not many, as the country blocks VPN connections. However, the VPNs I picked are able to get you a UAE IP address and work in the country.
Can I use a free VPN to get a UAE IP address?
Most likely, no, as many free VPNs don’t allow you to access their UAE servers (you need to upgrade to a paid plan to do so). Even if you find a free VPN that can get you a UAE IP address, I don’t recommend that you use it — they typically lack the necessary security features, have slow speeds, and impose strict data limits. My top choice for getting a UAE IP address, Private Internet Access, costs as little as $2.03 / month and covers each purchase with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
