VeePN VPN Review: Quick Expert Summary

VeePN is really secure and easy to use, and it provides very fast speeds on local servers — in my speed tests, I never noticed any difference in speeds when connected to a server in my country.

The provider comes with all industry-standard VPN security features, including a kill switch, a no-logs policy, and 256-bit AES encryption. In addition, it also has:

  • Double VPN servers.
  • NetGuard.
  • Split-tunneling.
  • Perfect forward secrecy.
  • RAM-only servers.
  • Full leak protection.
  • And more …

I really like VeePN, but there are some drawbacks I need to mention — it doesn’t work with Netflix, there are noticeable slowdowns on connections to distant servers, and there’s no live chat support.

VeePN allows 10 connections with 1 account, and it has paid monthly and yearly plans. It backs all long-term plans with a 30-day money-back guarantee and the shortest plan with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

VeePN Full Review — Very Secure With Good Extras

VeePN Full Review — Very Secure With Good Extras

I spent weeks testing VeePN to see how it compares to the other top VPNs out there. I can safely say it’s a really secure VPN that also has a decently-sized server network.

VeePN has 2,500+ servers in 60 countries and has tons of high-end security perks — such as perfect forward secrecy, RAM-only servers, an ad blocker, and double VPN servers. In addition, it also provides very fast speeds on local servers and has user-friendly apps for most major platforms.

But VeePN doesn’t work with Netflix, so it’s not the best for streaming. Still, I like how all servers allow P2P traffic.

VeePN Plans & Pricing — Highly Affordable Payment Plans + 30-Day Money Back Guarantee

VeePN has a monthly plan and a few yearly plans. The VPN allows 10 connections, which is on the higher end of the industry average of 5–10 connections. Still, if that’s not enough for you, I’d recommend trying out Private Internet Access instead, as it allows unlimited connections.

VeePN’s pricing starts at $2.49 / month, which is super affordable. That said, you’ll need to subscribe for a very long period to enjoy those savings — if you don’t feel comfortable with such a commitment, Surfshark also has very affordable plans, and its longest plan is shorter.

The provider accepts multiple payment methods, including credit/debit cards, PayPal, Google Pay, cryptocurrencies, and several other options.

VeePN backs all long-term purchases with a 30-day money-back guarantee. The shortest plan is only covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee.

VeePN Features — Core VPN Features, Choice of Protocols + Some Nice Extras

VeePN comes with these industry-standard VPN security features:

  • 256-bit AES encryption — Makes all your internet traffic 100% unreadable. This is the same level of encryption that’s used by the military.
  • No-logs policy — VeePN doesn’t collect logs about your IP address or web browsing (which sites you visit, for example).
  • Kill switch — Disables your internet access if your VPN connection drops to protect you from accidental traffic leaks.

VeePN uses the following protocols: WireGuard, OpenVPN, and IKEv2/IPSec. I think this is a very good selection — both IKEv2/IPSec and OpenVPN are safe and have good speeds, and WireGuard is also really secure and provides some of the fastest VPN speeds out there.

I also like how the provider has perfect forward secrecy (PFS) and RAM-only servers. PFS changes the encryption key for each VPN session, making it nearly impossible for hackers to compromise past or future keys to spy on your traffic. And RAM-only servers only write data to the RAM instead of the hard drive, so every server reset wipes all data.

In addition, VeePN provides protection against IPv6, DNS, and WebRTC leaks. Some top competitors (like Surfshark) only have DNS leak protection. I also ran 10+ leak tests while connected to the provider’s servers, and I never experienced any leaks.

VeePN also comes with additional features:

  • Split-tunneling. This feature allows you to choose which apps use the VPN and which apps don’t use the VPN connection. For example, I used split-tunneling to only route traffic from my P2P app through the VPN, which increased my download speeds. VeePN’s split-tunneling is good, but I think Private Internet Access has better split-tunneling since it also lets you split-tunnel IP addresses in addition to apps.
  • NetGuard. This is the provider’s ad blocker, which blocks ad trackers, gets rid of ads, and also blocks connections to shady sites. In my tests, it was able to get rid of the majority of ads on websites, which is great — still, I think Private Internet Access’ MACE feature is much better, as it always gets rid of all ads.
  • Double VPN. Sends your traffic through 2 VPN servers instead of just 1 VPN server, adding an extra layer of security. VeePN has double VPN servers in 5+ countries — I honestly think you get better variety with Surfshark, which provides double VPN connections via Dynamic MultiHop that lets you choose whichever entry and exit servers you want from 100 countries.

VeePN Privacy & Security — Only Logs Your Email Address When Registering

VeePN comes with a strict no-logs policy, as it doesn’t collect your IP address, your web traffic (what sites you visit, for example), your bandwidth usage, and your connection timestamps. It only records your email address, which it needs to set up your account and communicate with you, and your payment data to process your purchases.

However, I’d like to see the provider’s no-logs policy undergo an independent audit (like ExpressVPN or Private Internet Access). It’d be easier to trust the VPN that way.

VeePN Privacy & Security — Only Logs Your Email Address When Registering

Also, VeePN is located in Panama, which is outside the jurisdiction of the 5/9/14 Eyes Alliances (a group of countries that share surveillance data with each other). What’s more, Panama has privacy-friendly laws.

Overall, VeePN has a transparent no-logs policy that ensures the provider doesn’t log any sensitive data. In addition, the VPN is located in a privacy-friendly location.

VeePN Speed & Performance — Best on Local Servers (Can Slow Down Further Away)

I ran speed tests on my Windows 10 PC on servers in all 60 countries where VeePN has a server. I had the fastest speeds while using a VPN server in my country (Romania). On distant servers in Brazil, the US, and Japan, I still maintained good speeds, but I also experienced noticeable slowdowns.

First, I ran a speed test without being connected to the VPN to get a baseline for my speeds. Next, I used the provider’s quick-connect tool (Optimal Location), which automatically connected me to a server in my country.

VeePN Speed & Performance — Best on Local Servers (Can Slow Down Further Away)

Then, I tested a long-distance server in Brazil — these are my speeds:

VeePN Speed & Performance — Best on Local Servers (Can Slow Down Further Away)

Overall, VeePN had fast speeds on local servers but I noticed slowdowns on distant servers. On local servers, websites loaded instantly, HD and 4K videos loaded instantly and didn’t buffer, and I didn’t experience lag while playing online games. On distant servers, websites took around 2 seconds to load, HD videos loaded in 3 seconds, and 4K videos took 5 seconds to load (and there was minor buffering at the start).

VeePN Servers & IP Addresses — Pretty Big Server Network + Double VPN Servers Available

VeePN has 2,500+ servers in 60 countries. This is a pretty big server network, but I should note that other top competitors have servers in more countries — so it’s easier to find nearby servers for fast speeds. For example, ExpressVPN and CyberGhost VPN have servers in 100+ countries.

I like how the provider displays the ping next to each server. This metric shows how long it takes for your device to communicate with the VPN server — the lower the ping, the faster the speeds.

Also, VeePN allows torrenting on all servers, which is great. In addition, it also has streaming servers — but even with streaming servers, VeePN doesn’t work with top sites like Netflix and BBC iPlayer.

Finally, VeePN provides access to double VPN servers, which encrypt your traffic twice. You get double VPN servers in 5+ countries, which is nice — that said, I think Surfshark’s Dynamic MultiHop servers are better, as they’re available in 100 countries and you can pick the entry and exit servers.

Overall, VeePN has a decently-sized server network. Also, it displays the server ping, allows torrenting on all servers, has streaming servers, and provides access to double VPN servers.

VeePN Streaming & Torrenting — Works With Most Streaming Services + Supports Torrenting on All Servers

VeePN has decent streaming support, as it works with popular streaming platforms like Amazon Prime, Disney+, and Max. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with Netflix or BBC iPlayer.

If you’re only interested in streaming, I’d go with ExpressVPN instead — it works with 100+ streaming platforms, including Netflix, BBC iPlayer, Max, and more.

VeePN Streaming & Torrenting — Works With Most Streaming Services + Supports Torrenting on All Servers

The provider has pretty good P2P support, as it allows torrenting on all servers. In addition, it works well with top P2P apps like uTorrent and Vuze. Still, I think Private Internet Access is a much better P2P VPN — in addition to allowing torrenting on all servers, it also comes with port forwarding (connect to more peers to get faster P2P speeds) and SOCKS5 proxy support, which changes your IP address but doesn’t encrypt your traffic to provide faster downloads.

Overall, VeePN is decent for streaming and good for torrenting. It works with top sites like Max, Disney+, and Amazon Prime (but not Netflix and BBC iPlayer). Plus, it allows P2P traffic on all servers and is compatible with top P2P apps.

VeePN Ease of Use: Mobile & Desktop Apps — Easy-to-Use Apps for Most Platforms (+Supports Manual Linux Setups)

VeePN Ease of Use: Mobile & Desktop Apps — Easy-to-Use Apps for Most Platforms (+Supports Manual Linux Setups)

VeePN has apps for iOS, Android, Windows, macOS, Android TV, and Fire TV. It also allows manual router setups and supports manual setups on Linux. In case you want to use a VPN with a dedicated Linux app, check out ExpressVPN (it’s the best Linux VPN on the market).

The provider’s mobile apps are really easy to use. They come with a quick-connect feature, it only takes about 4 seconds to find and connect to a server, and there are helpful explanations for all settings and features.

And the desktop apps are just as simple to use, too. The design is very similar to the mobile apps, so it’s easy to switch between them. What’s more, there’s a search field for quick access to your favorite servers, and all VPN server types are split into their respective categories (All, Streaming, Double VPN).

Overall, VeePN has apps for most major platforms that are simple to use. Its mobile and desktop apps look very similar, and they’re really easy to navigate too.

VeePN Customer Support — 24/7 Email Support + Knowledge Base (But No Live Chat)

VeePN Customer Support — 24/7 Email Support + Knowledge Base (But No Live Chat)

VeePN has good customer support — it comes with an in-depth support library and 24/7 email support. Unfortunately, it’s lacking live chat support, which top competitors like ExpressVPN and CyberGhost VPN have.

I think the provider’s support articles are pretty good. There are setup guides, frequently asked questions (FAQs), and troubleshooting guides. The content is easy to scan through and follow, and some articles even have screenshots.

I tested VeePN’s email support several times throughout the week, and it was good. I generally got a response in less than 24 hours, and the replies were usually really helpful.

Overall, VeePN has 24/7 email support and a helpful support library. The only thing that’s missing is live chat support.

Is VeePN Secure & Fast in 2024?

VeePN provides strong security, user-friendly apps, and very fast speeds on local servers — so fast that I didn’t notice any difference between my original speeds and my speeds on a server in my country.

The VPN has all essential VPN security features, such as a kill switch, a no-logs policy, and 256-bit AES encryption. It also comes with RAM-only servers, full leak protection, and perfect forward secrecy. What’s more, it has extras like NetGuard, split-tunneling, and double VPN servers.

I think this is a great VPN, but there are a few issues I need to highlight — it’s not compatible with Netflix and BBC iPlayer, there are noticeable slowdowns on distant servers, and the provider lacks live chat support.

VeePN allows up to 10 connections and has paid monthly and yearly plans. It backs all long-term purchases with a 30-day money-back guarantee, and the shortest plan with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is VeePN free?

No, VeePN doesn’t come with a free plan — still, it has a super cheap long-term plan that starts at only $2.49 / month. In addition, it also backs all long-term plans with a 30-day money-back guarantee.

I don’t recommend using a free VPN anyway, to be honest. Most free VPNs come with annoying limitations, like data and speed caps, a limited number of servers, and no streaming or torrenting support.

Is VeePN safe?

Yes, VeePN comes with tons of great security features. It has all essential VPN security features, including 256-bit AES encryption, a kill switch (to prevent data leaks), and a no-logs policy. In addition, it also has a good ad blocker called NetGuard and double VPN servers that provide extra encryption.

Plus, the provider also has advanced security features. It has perfect forward secrecy (changes the encryption key for each VPN session), RAM-only servers that wipe all data on each reboot, and full leak protection.

Does VeePN work with Netflix?

No, unfortunately VeePN doesn’t work with Netflix. It also doesn’t work with BBC iPlayer. On the plus side, it works with other popular streaming platforms, including Disney+, Amazon Prime, and Max.

If you’re looking for a Netflix VPN, I recommend ExpressVPN. It works with Netflix without issues, and it even supports 10+ Netflix libraries. On top of that, it provides super-fast streaming speeds.

Is VeePN good for torrenting?

Yes, VeePN provides good P2P support since it allows torrenting across all of its servers. In addition, it also secures your P2P traffic with a kill switch and no-logs policy. And it also has an ad blocker that can protect you from shady P2P sites.

That said, I still prefer Private Internet Access for torrenting. It too allows P2P traffic on all servers, but it also has port forwarding, which lets you connect to more peers for faster downloads. Also, it has SOCKS5 proxy support, which changes your IP address but doesn’t provide encryption to provide faster speeds.

Bottom Line

VeePN has very strong security features, user-friendly apps, and really fast speeds on local servers. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work with Netflix and BBC iPlayer, there are noticeable slowdowns on distant servers, and there’s no live chat support.
