Safety Detectives: Please share your company background, how you got started, and your mission.
Naoris: David Carvalho and Monica Oravcova, founders of Naoris, are both cyber experts with long-term experience in such fields.
David, CEO of Naoris was the youngest global CISO in Europe, ex-CISO for multi-billion companies, ethical hacker for 20 years, nation-state advisor, and security thought leader.
Monica, COO of Naoris was a business executive with more than 15 years of experience in tech & telco, managing projects with a $100M budget.
As industry experts, both David and Monica felt the need for a revolution in cybersecurity solutions. For over 35 years, there were no changes to the conventional cybersecurity model, which clearly was not working or effective. With current cybersecurity models, it takes an average of 197 days to detect a cyber breach, which even goes up to 12 months without knowing that you are being hacked. Reports even predict that such cybersecurity damages will cause the loss of $6 Trillion globally by the end of 2021. Yet, no one has come up with a new solution. So, that is why David and Monica came up with Naoris, to create a new model of cybersecurity by implementing blockchain technology. We envision Naoris to be the next standard of cybersecurity by presenting a safer world with no fear of a cyber breach.
SD: What is the main service your company offers?
Naoris: There are two main services that Naoris offers:
- One is the blockchain-based cybersecurity model. In the old model of security, the more devices on the network, the larger the attack surfaced due to its centralized structure. With our decentralized solution, Naoris took the biggest weakness in cybersecurity and turned it upside down, making it into an ever-expanding competitive advantage. Naoris leverages decentralization to increase the security of your network with every device you add.
- Another service is the Token sale, which is quite self-explanatory. We have not launched the tokens yet to the public, but we will, soon, so stay tuned!
SD: What is something unique that helps you stay ahead of your competition?
Naoris: As mentioned earlier, unlike the traditional cybersecurity model, Narois came up with the world’s first holistic blockchain-based cybersecurity platform. This itself is already a unique characteristic that Naoris has, distinguishing itself from the other cybersecurity solutions in the industry. We believe that this technology of ours would change the future global trend of cybersecurity.
What do you think are the worst cyberthreats today?
Monica believes that the worst cyberthreats today are ransomware and national state attacks, which I also agree with. Since 2013, ransomware attacks have been increasing exponentially and they are getting more aggressive and dangerous as time passes. Especially when the cryptolocker appeared, things got even worse.
These cyberattacks happen to individuals, big-size enterprises, and even nation-states. Attacks in individuals cause small problems, mostly money-related, but attacks on big-size enterprises and nation-states mean huge threats to millions of people with their finances, personal information, and much more that follows. Therefore, nation-state attacks are one of the worst cyberthreats today.
Yet, we believe that Naoris’ new cybersecurity model could reduce the threats exponentially with its decentralization and fast breach detecting abilities. I hope you all are also excited for the future that Naoris will present with a safer cyber environment.
