Today I invited Brandon Feiden and Cyrille Quemin of SpicyChat AI to help us explore a very hot topic: privacy and content moderation in AI chatbots.

How did the idea of SpicyChat AI come about? What are the real-world applications of NSFW AI chatbots?

We aim to create a platform where users can freely express their deepest thoughts and fantasies in a secure environment. Our AI chatbot platform serve real-world applications by providing immersive entertainment and offering a confidential space for exploring personal interests.

My background in digital identity has significantly shaped my approach to privacy and cybersecurity. Having worked in an industry where privacy is paramount, I bring that experience to SpicyChat AI, aiming to exceed basic compliance and proactively address future requirements and regulations. This experience reinforces our commitment to not just meeting but exceeding privacy and security expectations.
While we’re actively working on enhancing privacy measures, SpicyChat’s privacy practices are already compliant with all relevant data regulations, such as GDPR, and we have a strict no-sharing policy (we don’t disclose or sell user data to any third parties). Users have the right to access, rectify, or delete their data by contacting our support, and can choose to keep their bots private, if desired.
What steps have you taken to protect the anonymity and confidentiality of users engaging with your platform?
While we are still developing our full privacy strategy as we grow, we ensure that user data is anonymized as a baseline measure. Given the large volume of messages processed daily—over 25 million—it is also impractical to pinpoint specific user data. Our approach leverages this scale to enhance anonymity, although we recognize the need to prioritize additional privacy measures, such as advanced encryption, as planned with our team.
The platform supports uncensored conversations while allowing users to toggle NSFW content based on their preferences. All this without revealing their identities. The community guidelines prohibit illegal content and ensure a safe environment for users. This includes restrictions on extreme or dangerous content scenarios.
What steps have you taken to ensure proper content moderations and avoid potential misuse?
Ensuring proper content moderation is a cornerstone of our mission to provide a secure and supportive environment. We employ a combination of AI-driven algorithms and human oversight to monitor and moderate content. We’ve also recently launched our ‘Report Inappropriate Message’ feature, which allows users to flag and report messages that may violate our guidelines. This continuous feedback loop helps us promptly remove inappropriate content, improve our AI’s understanding of acceptable interactions, and therefore refine our entire moderation process.
SpicyChat AI also utilizes advanced NLP techniques to analyze user inputs and generate responses. This technology helps the AI understand context and nuances in conversations, allowing it to recognize inappropriate or harmful language in order to moderate content more effectively.

- Defamatory, discriminatory, or mean-spirited content targeting religion, race, sexual orientation, gender, or national/ethnic origin

- Glorification of real-life violence, crime, or known violent criminals
